アイビーズ
古くから親しまれてきた目玉模様の装飾は、「悪意ある視線（邪視）を跳ね返す」という意味を持ちます。
中東やアジア・地中海沿岸では、「他人の嫉妬や羨望の眼差しは呪いとなって病気や災いをもたらす」と本気で信じられており、ビーズに「目」を描くことで悪意のある視線を見張る・跳ね返すという盾の役割を持たせて装飾品として身につけられてきました。
